Obituary: Robert (Bob) Shaffer

Robert (Bob) Shaffer 1955 ~ 2006 Robert (Bob) William Shaffer, 51 years old, born May 4, 1955 to Jim and Mary Shaffer in Pasadena, CA passed away July 29, 2006 after sustaining a heart-attack. Bob married Marlynn Jenson Shaffer, his soul mate and love of his life, on July 9, 1988. Later sealed in the Jordan River Temple. He is an active member of the LDS church and served in the Illinois Chicago mission. Bob received a Bachelor's degree from BYU followed by a Master's degree from the University of Phoenix. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a powerful sense of humor. He truly was our hero. He enjoyed boating with his family; fly fishing, and riding his Harley. He held many different positions during his 17-year career at Nature Sunshine Products and most recently made President of the International Department. While there he made a lot of great friends. Bob is survived by his wife; mother; brothers, Jim and Tom (Mary); sister-in-law Jean; children, Janeen (Jason) Ludwig, Garrett (Natalie), Jordan (Christa) Jones, Greg (Wendy), Janette (Nate) Nelson, Robert Shaffer; grandchildren whom he loved to be with, Kanyon, Garrett Jr., Annabelle, Logan, Mckay, James, Alexia; in-laws, Jim and Donna Jenson, and his special friend Phil Sykes. Preceded in death by his father and brothers, Matt and Nick. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at the Bluffdale Ward, 14400 South Redwood Road (1700West), Bluffdale, UT. Family and friends may visit Friday evening, August 4, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, or 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Bluffdale Ward. Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all who have visited, prayed, called, written, and brought in food. We feel your love.
