Kaye Burch Giles 1922 ~ 2006 Kaye Burch Giles passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006, surrounded by family who loved her and will miss her greatly. Kaye was born in Wallsburg, Utah, to Arthur Hilton and Lillie Deon Taylor Burch. She graduated with honors from Wasatch High School in 1940 and from Salt Lake General Hospital School of Nursing with an R.N. degree in 1943. On September 8, 1943 Kaye married Sherman A. Giles in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 63 years together. Their posterity includes six children, 28 grandchildren, 47 great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life, she had an unwavering testimony and served in many capacities, including Relief Society president, stake Relief Society counselor, and teacher in many organizations. She served a two-year stake mission with her husband. Kaye was devoted to her family. She lovingly supported her husband in work, church and community responsibilities. She was a talented seamstress, who gave handmade quilts to each of her children and grandchildren. Kaye was known for her kindness and charity. She used her nursing skills throughout the community and spent her life in the service of others. Kaye is survived by her husband, Sherman, and their six children: David (Tony) Giles, Kathleen (Bill) Jardine, Joyce (Sidney) Henderson, Lynn (Pearl) Giles, Jeanine (Leland) Ruegsegger, and Scott Giles. She is also survived by her sister, JoAnn Batty, and brothers Gene Burch and Steven Burch. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Clark, and sisters Myrl, Donna, and Mary. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Heber 8 Ward building, 650 S. 1200 W. (South Field Road), Heber City, Utah. Sherman and Kaye provided the land for this beautiful Chapel. Friends may call on Friday, Sept. 1, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Sat., from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to the services; both viewings will be held at the LDS Church. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
