The Salt Lake Chamber has announced that Salt Lake businesswoman Marilyn Tang, founder and president of Certified Handling Systems, was named 2006 Athena Business Leader of the Year.
The award will be given at the chamber's Women and Business Conference, held Nov. 15 at the Grand America Hotel.
The Athena award recognizes an active member of the chamber who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in business, serves her community and helps women in reaching their full leadership potential.
The November luncheon also will honor the 2006 Pathfinder award winners. The Pathfinder awards are given by the chamber to community leaders who demonstrate excellence and creativity in business, and who champion women in leadership roles and in the community.
The 2006 Pathfinder winners are Paulette Cary, general sales manager at KSFI FM 100/KUTR AM 820; Leigh von der Esch, Utah Film commissioner; Dr. Linda Leckman, chief executive officer of Intermountain Healthcare; LeeAnne Linderman, executive vice president at Zions Bank; and Sabina Zunguze, owner of Beautiful Options.
