Obituary: Peter Griffith Nelson Anderson

Peter Griffith Nelson Anderson 1931 ~ 2006 Peter Griffith Nelson Anderson passed away peacefully in his sleep in the wee hours of August 5, 2006, at his home in Boise, Idaho. He was born Dec. 8, 1931, to Mildred Barnett and Rex N. Anderson, Sr. in Salt Lake City, Utah. After serving in the Air Force he completed his education at University of Utah and pursued a career in the mining industry. Among his numerous accomplishments, Griff was a pioneer of mining in an environmentally responsible manner. He married Shirley Dawn Anderson January 26, 1951. She passed away December 22, 1978. He is survived by his children, Brent N. Anderson, Ely, NV; Jennifer A. Lee, Boise, ID; Mark N. Anderson, Boise, ID; and Michael Nelson Anderson, Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are grandchildren, James N. Anderson, Boise, ID; Patricia Anderson, Denver, CO; Robin Kelsy Lee, Reno, NV; Sean M. Lee, Boise, ID; Nicholas N. Anderson, Boise, ID; Kylie Dawn Anderson, Las Vegas, NV; and Michael and Jeaneath Reyes, Ely, NV. Also surviving is his wife of 25 years, Charleen "Sally" Armstrong Anderson, Boise, ID. He left strict instructions that there will be no services, but that his ashes be strewn over his property on the South Fork of the Boise River. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise.
