Dr. Lawrence L. Marvin (Larry) 4/21/1932 ~ 9/6/2006 Dr. Lawrence L. Marvin (Larry) passed away September 6, 2006 after a long illness. He was born on April 21, 1932 in St. Petersburg, FL. Larry obtained his M.D. degree from Loma Linda Medical School in Loma Linda, California in 1959. He spent two years with the United States Public Health Department and U.S. Coast Guard. He worked in emergency medicine and general practice at Florida Hospital, Orlando from 1962-1964. He then took a residency in Psychiatry in Ohio. While living in Ohio, he met and married Rebecca A. King in 1958. Larry and Becky have a son, Larry, who was born in 1970. Larry retired from medicine in 1998, after working for Valley Mental Health for 16 years. He was active in his parish, St. Thomas More. He loved scuba diving, hiking, camping, boating, travel, and genealogy. Larry was a loving and devoted husband and father. His wife Becky and son Larry, as well as one brother, David Marvin and one sister, Elma Leslie-Petroff of Florida, survive him. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. His family would like to thank Brighton Gardens and Hospice for Utah for all their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Larry Marvin to Hospice for Utah. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road (8000 S). Cannon Mortuary Funeral Directors.
