Spc. Matthew Evan Schneider 1983 ~ 2006 Spc. Matthew Evan Schneider, born on 1 January 1983 in Show Low, Arizona, died on 28 August 2006 in Iraq from non-combatant medical complications. Spc. Schneider enlisted in the Army October 2003 in an effort to serve his country and continue his education. After graduating from Gorham High School in June 2001, he attended New Hampshire Community College in Nashua, focusing on computer technology. Matthew was always helping people with technical computer problems, from building computers at home to setting up his dad's office network. Matthew really watched out for people, was quick to phone if he heard anyone was suffering, and had even made a home video for his step-mother when her battle with cancer worsened. Matthew was pleased to be in Iraq. He found the people of Iraq to be grateful and appreciative of the support from his unit, and he was glad to be part of that effort. Matthew was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his last home ward was the Kaysville 8th Ward. He planned to tour Europe with his parents after his tour of duty, finish his college education, and had hopes to some day marry. Matthew is survived by: Cynthia and Mark Tardiff of Lunenberg, VT, his father, Andrew Schneider of Kittery, ME, his sister, Sarah Gray of Fairfax, VA, and four step-brothers, David Guenette of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Guenette, Madison, WI, Martin Guenette, Providence, RI and Alex Tardiff, Lancaster, NH, his Grandmother, Catherine Botzum, Littleton, NH; uncles, Steve Botzum, Odenton, MD and Nathan Schneider, Salt Lake City, UT and aunt, Judith Schneider, Kaysville, UT.
