ARIZONA 16, BYU 13

Player of the game

Nicholas Folk

The Arizona senior kicker hit a clutch 48-yard kick in the closing seconds to secure a home victory for the Wildcats. He also made field goals from 30 and 22 yards and accounted for most of his team's scoring.

Play of the game

The Cougars had some costly breakdowns, but the biggest one came late in the fourth quarter of a tie game. Wide receiver Syndric Steptoe caught a short pass and appeared to be stopped for a loss, but he reversed field, ran through two would-be tacklers and picked up 10 yards for a first down that put Arizona in field goal range.

Key call

BYU appeared to take a 14-6 lead early in the third quarter, but a Matt Allen touchdown catch was nullified by a pass interference penalty. Instead, the Cougars settled for a field goal and eventually fell behind 13-10 heading into the fourth quarter.

Quotable

"Both teams were very physical, played hard, and it came down to one play." — Bronco Mendenhall, BYU head coach
