Harry Alvin Niebuhr 1918 ~ 2006 Harry Alvin Niebuhr passed away September 2, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived to be 88 years of age, and after a long productive life, his body and mind lost his battle to an infection, a stroke, and Alzheimer's Disease. Harry was born May 30, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to August Karl Herman and Johanna Pauline Auguste Nedderhof Niebuhr. Harry married Mildred Lonita Wangler November 10, 1941. After the death of Lonita, he married Marian Millard Stagg June 28, 1986 and inherited stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and additional brothers and sisters. He loved life and took advantage of every oppor-tunity that came his way whether it was during his military service in World War II, his mission in Germany, or his professional life. His favorite saying was "Life is what you make of it." He was a peaceful, humble man who was known for his humor, gentleness, kindness, honesty, and integrity. He expressed gratitude continually. He loved the Lord and His Gospel and served well in many church callings. He liked to tell the story of how keeping the Word of Wisdom saved his life in Africa when he almost died of Malaria. We are looking forward to the Grand Reunion in Heaven where we can all be together again.
