Vera Ashby Watts 1911 ~ 2007 Our dear loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Thursday, January 18, 2007. She was born September 19, 1911 in Leamington, Utah to Nathaniel and Jean Amanda Johnson Ashby. Mom attended school in Millard County. Her early years of life were spent in the Leamington and Lynndyl area where she enjoyed many great friendships. This is where she met the love of her life Don W. Watts, with whom she shared their dreams, struggles, joy and love for 72 years. They were married April 9, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. Most of their 72 years of married life was spent in Springville, UT, where they built, owned and operated Broodside Market for over 30 years. Together they were very successful in the grocery business. Mom and Dad served a memorable and honorable mission in Kentucky-Tennessee 1974-76. They have continued contact with the people they loved and served. She has been active in the Church serving in many callings especially in the Relief Society. The most prized achievement in her life was her family. Vera is survived by her loving and devoted husband Don; her children: Donald (Anna Joy) Centerville currently serving a mission in Sweden, Jeanine (Dale) Perry Centerville, Richard (Jean) Pleasant Grove, Robert (Martha) Lehi, Anna Lee (Richard) Johnson Spanish Fork and David (Paula) Orem. They have been blessed with 32 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family consisting of three sisters and four brothers. The family would like to thank Dr. E. William LeRoy and staff, Aspen Senior Care, Greenwood Manor and A Plus Hospice for their devoted, loving and tender care of our parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at the Kolob 8th Ward located at 840 S. 400 East Springville, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South Springville, Utah and also Thursday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the LDS Missionary Fund. Condolences may be sent at www.wheelermortuary.com
