Georgia Arlene Granger Chorn 1936 ~ 2007 Our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Georgia Arlene Granger Chorn was called back to our Father in Heaven to receive her paradisiacal glory, after a valiant fight with Alzheimer's on Thursday, January 25, 2007, while at home in Bountiful surrounded by her family. Born Jan. 9, 1936 in Mesquite, NV to Walter Granger and Nell Leavitt the fourth of eight children, they moved to Salt lake City when Mom was 9. Mom attended Granite High, and the U of U. She married Clayton Charles Chorn in 1956, they had six beautiful children. She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her faith was the cornerstone of her life, she served in all church auxiliary positions, including serving in the Bristol England Mission, from 1992-1994. She spent over 25 yrs employed by Memorial Estates assisting families with their grief; mom was the happiest when she was in the service of others, and helping people was one of her passions in life. Mom had unconditional love for all those that had the pleasure of being a part of her life. A life long missionary, she took the gospel to all that would receive it, and strengthened the testimonies of all that knew her. She left a legacy of love, and faith in the gospel behind. Survived by her six children, Jimmy (Tracy), Taylorsville; Keri Thomas of Bntfl; Robert (Shelly) Murray, Toni (Todd) Dykstra West Valley; Corey (Shazzanna) West Valley; and Christopher Chorn of Carson City, NV, as well as her six loving sisters and brother. 18 grandchildren and five great-grand children. Preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Services will be held Thurs. Feb. 1st, at 11:00 in the Highland Lake Ward, 981 E. Revere Cir. (5555 S.) Friends and Family may call at the Cottonwood Mortuary 4670 S. Highland Dr. Wed. 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward Thurs. one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful, UT. Special thanks to Rob and Shelly for all the love and care they provided for mom.
