A small airplane made a landing without its landing gear at Salt Lake City International Airport Monday morning.

Airport operations officials told the Deseret Morning News the Piper Navajo plane being flown by Salmon Air had a gear malfunction and landed on the runway, sliding to a stop.

"There's no injuries," said Dave Korzep, the superintendent of airport operations. "There was only the one pilot on board."

Maintenance crews moved the plane from the runway. Federal authorities also are investigating.
