Michael Jad Morrison, M.D.

1971 ~ 2007

Our beloved son and brother, Michael, is adored and loved by his family; he is admired and greatly respected by the many people fortunate enough to know him and call him friend. Mike was a man of honor who held unwavering, exceptional, loyalty and devotion to those he loved. He was kind, tender and truly compassionate by nature. On September 15, 1971, Mike was born into a loving home in Salt Lake City, Utah where he was raised and educated. He graduated from the University of Utah with honors and gained early admission to the University of Utah Medical School. Mike was extremely humble and private and when told he was being considered for Valedictorian of his graduating class from the University of Utah, he declined the opportunity. He shunned the limelight, always preferring to live a private, simple, humble life. After graduation from the University of Utah Medical School, Mike chose to do his residency training in Anchorage, Alaska where he could enjoy the great outdoors. As a skilled physician, he served with quiet devotion, genuine kindness, and exceptional compassion as he cared for his patients.

From the time he was a young boy, Mike loved and enjoyed the outdoors. In Anchorage, he was able to explore the mountains and back country. Trained by his father, (a former U.S. Navy diver and undersea physician), Mike certified as a SCUBA diver at age 12 and later as a certified open water master diver, always enjoying deep dives and the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. During college summers, Mike worked for the BLM fighting wild fires. He excelled in activities and outdoor sports too numerous to list.

Our hearts are broken with his passing, but we are comforted in the knowledge that we will some day be reunited. Our love, devotion and admiration for Mike are too deep to express in mere words; and thus, due to his exemplary life, we will strive to be the best we can in honor of he memory. He will live forever in our hearts, our thoughts and indeed our very purpose.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, (J. Harold and La Rue Keddington, Leland Morrison, Adele and Willis Wright). Michael is survived by his father, Leland Jed Morrison, M.D., his mother Marsha Morrison Park, stepfather K.S. Park, M.D., sister Victoria Morrison, M.D., his brother J Ryan Morrison, sister L Elizabeth Recor (Joseph Recor), three nieces (Alexa, Elle and Lauren Recor) who absolutely adored their fun-loving "Uncle Mike" and by a wonderful extended family which includes Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many loving and devoted friends.
