David Ralph Hummel

1947 ~ 2007

David Ralph Hummel passed away Dec 19, 2007 in Salt Lake City from lung cancer. He died in the same stoic manner he led his daily life. He was born April 4, 1947 in Cumberland, Maryland to Garland A. and Miriam Dietrich Hummel. He moved with his family to Holladay in November 1959. He was a graduate of Olympus High School. He married Margene Morgan, they were later divorced. He married Mabel Diane Crow August 25, 1979. He was employed by Tesoro Refinery, formerly Amoco, for over 25 years. He was an avid trap shooter and John Deere tractor and antique farm machinery enthusiast.

He is survived by daughter Andrea Hummel Nelson (Kenneth), grandchildren, Zachary Edward and Olivia Rose, parents, brother, Dennis (Janet), two nephews Garland and Devin and sister, Patricia. He is also survived by many close and long-term friends. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Star. He was preceded in death by Mabel Diane Crow.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007, noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. A viewing will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
