College football: In addition to the big game of local interest — BYU vs. UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl (6 p.m., ESPN) — there are a couple of other bowl games. First it's the atrociously named Papajohns.com Bowl — Cincinnati vs. Southern Mississippi (11 a.m., ESPN2); then it's another game featuring a Mountain West Conference team — New Mexico vs. Nevada (2:30 p.m., ESPN) in the New Mexico Bowl.

The Wizard of Oz (5 and 7:15 p.m., TNT): Classic 1939 movie. (R)

NBA (5:30 p.m., Ch. 14): Jazz at Heat

Elf (7 p.m., Ch. 2): Will Ferrell stars in this very funny 2003 movie. (R)

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (7 p.m., Ch. 4): Jim Carrey stars in this wacky 2004 movie.
