Obituary: Albert Francis Bahr

Albert Francis Bahr 1914 ~ 2007 Albert Francis Bahr, 92, died February 12, 2007, in Provo. He was born February 21, 1914, in Lehi to Albert Andrew and Jessie Edith Butt Bahr. He married Louie Jean Miner December 22, 1936 in the Manti Utah LDS temple. Francis graduated from Brigham Young University in 1938 with a degree in agronomy, and worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service for 35 years. He and Louie Jean raised their family in North Dakota, Upon retirement in 1973, they returned to Utah, where they continued their lifetime of service to family, community, and church. They served two missions for the LDS church and were temple workers for many years. Throughout his entire adult life Francis was an avid supporter of scouting, and was awarded the Silver Beaver in recognition of this service. He loved his family, the church, the earth, and education, and was generous with his time and energy in projects of carpentry, woodwork, photography, and jewelry-making that benefited others. He is survived by his wife, sons Howard (Kathleen) Bahr, Don (Vonda) Bahr, Lee (Carol Ann) Bahr, Stephen (Carol) Bahr, Lyman (Marlene) Bahr, and daughter Linda (Kim) Hibbert; 63 grandchildren; and 102 great-grandchildren; sisters Iris Despain, Alice Babiracki, Leona Rowley, and brothers Cecil (Mary) Bahr and LaVere (Diane) Bahr. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State, Orem. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 17 at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Stake Center, 1750 S. 400 W., Orem, with a viewing prior to the services, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
