President Heber J. Grant addressed people in the eastern United States by radio in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 14, 1932, according to the March 5, 1932, Church News.
The article quoted President Grant: "I am gratified to have the opportunity of speaking to a radio audience in the Eastern States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is the first time I have had that pleasure. As my time is limited I shall read the thirteen Articles of Faith of the Church and make brief comments."
He continued by commending to listeners Elder James E. Talmage's book The Articles of Faith.
Then he read each of the Articles of Faith, commenting on several of them.
For example, after reading the eighth Article of Faith, he said: "Many people not of our faith admit that the Mormons believe more literally in the Bible than any other religious people.
"The teachings of the Book of Mormon are in absolute harmony with the teachings of the Bible — and it is actually a New Witness for God and His Son, Jesus Christ."
