OREM — Utah Valley State College airector of admissions/One Stop will be awarded the 2007 Achieving Professional Excellence award at the opening session of the annual American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers meeting in Boston, Mass., on Feb. 28.
The award recognizes one individual per year for outstanding achievement and influence in higher education administration, particularly in the management of information, technology and service resources. Award sponsor SunGard/SCT will donate $5,000 in Liz Childs' behalf to UVSC's scholarship fund.
A full-time UVSC employee since 1990, Childs became director of UVSC admissions in 2001. In 2005, she was also made director of One Stop, which brought admissions, registration, records, parking, basic financial aid and tuition and fee payment services to one physical location on campus.
PHOENIX — Former Orem resident and 2002 graduate of Orem High School, Aleesha Krutz, recently received a $10,000 National Business Aviation Association scholarship at the Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference.
Krutz is dispatch manager for Westminster College's aviation flight operations program. The money will provide Kurtz with professional development and training for dispatcher certification.
She earned a bachelor's of science in aviation management from Westminster in 2006 and is pursuing an MBA at Westminster.
