Nedra Louise Blackner Walker 1915 ~ 2007 Our loving mother and grandmother, Nedra, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2007 at age 91. She was born on August 6, 1915 in Lyman, Wyoming to Leonard Ray Blackner and Bessie Louise Briggs, the third of nine children. Nedra was blessed with a natural alto voice and instilled a love of music in her family. She loved to dance and could follow any kind of music. She loved children and worked for 15 years as a preschool teacher in southern California. She was much loved by all especially the children she influenced. She married Grow John Walker, June 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with six children, Clark (Paula) Walker, Sparks, NV; Louise (Jerry) Rees, Highland, UT; Wyoma (Richard) Wilde, Murray, UT; Marcia (Terry) Shelton, Lyman, WY; Quinn (Sandra) Walker, Minden, NV; Mayla (Curtis) Slack, West Jordan, UT. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and four siblings, Dorothy Stewart, Kent Blackner, Bonnie Snelson and Ivar Blackner. She later married Leo Thomason and they resided in St. George, UT for several years. Funeral services will be held Sat., March 17th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT. with a viewing one hour prior to services. Nedra left a legacy of love of life and family and she will be greatly missed.
