Anderson began his accounting career in private industry, spent several years at another local CPA firm, ran his own practice and then joined CVB as a senior manager. CVB also announced the appointment of Marty D. Van Wagoner as chief executive officer and managing partner of the firm. Van Wagoner has been with CVB and its predecessor firms for about six years. Prior to that, his experience includes work at another firm, running his own firm, teaching and placement. CVB also welcomes Sean Bryant as a supervising senior in audit, Andria Shaw as new tax staff and August Monroe as new audit staff.
Penna Powers Brian Haynes, a Salt Lake-based advertising agency, announced two staff additions. Seth Blackson joined the creative department as a designer. Blackson is a graduate of Utah State University. Tyson Holtkamp joined the agency's interactive department as a production coordinator. Holtkamp is a student at the University of Utah.
The Utah Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy recently hired Anna Tibbitts as administrative assistant. Tibbitts will help the coalition with everything from grant writing to Web site maintenance. The Utah Jump$tart Coalition was organized to improve the financial literacy of Utah's youth.
Big-D Construction announced that Brandon Briggs was promoted to vice president. Briggs has been with Big-D since 2002. In his new role, he will be responsible for the direction of all estimating activities, quality control of all estimates and the overall development of the estimating group. Briggs has 10 years of construction industry experience and is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Utah County's Commerce CRG commercial real estate office announced it has hired four commercial real estate agents. John Monson has five years of business management and financial analysis experience. He also has experience at another real estate firm. Jason Dodge is a 10-year real estate veteran. He joins Commerce CRG as an associate broker, specializing in office, investment and land. Justin Irvine (not pictured) is a licensed real estate broker in both Utah and California and joins Commerce CRG as an associate broker. Mike McMurtrey has four years of experience in Utah County's commercial real estate market and specializes in real estate investment and analysis.

Shaswati Cates (not pictured) has more than four years of marketing and public relations experience. She is a graduate of Boise State University.
SkyWest Airlines has named Michael Thompson vice president/market development. He will oversee strategic planning, scheduling, pricing, inventory control and production planning for the airline. Thompson is a graduate of BYU. He served as the company's executive operational analyst from 2001 to 2005.
The law firm of Snow, Christensen & Martineau welcomes Scott Young as an associate. Young's practice includes criminal defense, government defense work and commercial litigation. He is a graduate of the Columbia University Law School.
Layton Construction Co. announced two new vice presidents. Steven C. Brecker was named executive vice president in Layton's health care division. Brecker has more than 18 years of experience in the construction and health care industries. He is a graduate of Auburn University. Mark. J. Sheanshang was promoted to vice president in the company's hospitality division. Sheanshang has 30 years of experience in preconstruction, construction and construction management on commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
Integrated Marketing Group, a Salt Lake-based marketing agency, has appointed Diania Dickerson media buyer. Prior to joining IMG, Dickerson was a media buyer at three other firms. She attended Utah Valley State and Salt Lake Community colleges.
