Obituary: Doris M. Reid Brodie

Doris M. Reid Brodie My Sweetheart Doris M. Reid Brodie passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2007 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born on March 28, 1920 in Baltimore, MD to Ferris A. Reid and Esther D. Reid and grew up in Springfield, IL. along with her brother Ferris (Veronica) Reid and her sister Barbara J. Reid. Doris married Donald E. Brodie on June 14, 1944, marriage was later solemnized Salt Lake Temple. Doris was a hard worker. She started her own business Fun Services, and worked at it for over 20 years. Her fun personality made her a joy to be around and her sweet alto voice was a delight to hear. Doris served in many callings in the LDS Church, including serving a mission in Kentucky with her husband Don. People were drawn to Doris especially the young people, that she worked with in the church. Doris loved the special people of her ward. They traveled, camped out and shared many good times and laughs. Doris felt she and Don were blessed to live in such a special setting with people who loved them and helped in so many ways. Services for Doris will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. in the Holladay 10th Ward, 4601 S. 2565 E., with a viewing one hour prior to services . Friends may call Friday March 2, from 6 -7 p.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive. Interment will be Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Springfield, Ill.
