Thora (Tyra) Freeman 11/21/09 ~ 3/24/07 Thora (Tyra) Larson Freeman, 97, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died March 24, 2007 of natural causes in Riverton, Utah. She was born in Malmo, Sweden to Nathalia and Teoder Larson. She immigrated to the United State in 1931, lived and worked in Salt Lake City and became an American citizen in 1937. She moved to Los Angeles, CA, married Carl Elmer Freeman in 1938 and raised three children. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1956. Carl passed away in 1975, and she moved to Rexburg, ID in 1992. In 2006 she moved to Riverton, UT where she lived with her daughter. A faithful member of the LDS church all of her life, she served in many positions. She loved to sing, play the guitar, and became skilled in oil painting, winning several awards for her work. She enjoyed cooking and delighted family and friends with her Swedish dishes. She was a foster parent for many children while living in Los Angeles. Always proud of her heritage, she enjoyed attending Swedish mid-summer and Lucia celebrations. She loved playing Scrabble, and going on rides. A woman of great love and devotion to her family, friends and church, she will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include her children, Lennart (Linda) Freeman of Bountiful, UT, Millie (Rod) Matson of Riverton, UT, and Kenneth (Donna) Freeman of Eden, NC; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and six siblings. Services will be held Thurs., March 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, with Bishop Brian Curtis officiating.
