Ann Sander Sturdevant Promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep. - Robert Frost "What a great Lady, I am so lucky to have spent 30 years with her. My love and admiration for her grew as each year passed." - Steve Sturdevant Ann passed away suddenly Sunday evening on April 15, 2007 with her loving and faithful husband Steve at her side. She was recovering from open heart surgery she underwent a little over a month ago. She leaves behind her grieving family and many friends who will miss her greatly. She was born on December 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Owen C. and Janet B. Sander. She was the oldest of four sisters. She graduated from Granite High School, Robert A Steur College of Beauty, and Real Estate School. She married the love of her life Steve Sturdevant nearly 30 years ago and they shared a rare love and respect for each other. Ann was a wonderful wife and mother; she was an awesome cook and had a beautiful home that she took much pride in. She was very stylish and loved to shop. She was also very generous and loving, and as her husband Steve said "she had the sweetest smile." Ann was very adventurous and had a very happy and exciting life. She traveled and lived in many places during her lifetime, making many friends along the way. She worked for Mountain Fuel Supply, owned and operated a beauty shop in the Charleston Hotel in Salt Lake City and sold real estate for many years. She worked hard to find the perfect house for her clients. We will never forget how much fun she was. She loved to laugh, she had an infectious laugh, and was a "fun magnet," everyone loved being around her. Ann is survived by her husband Steve E. Sturdevant, her two sons John K. Butler and David A. Vaughn (Trista), her stepchildren Mark S. Sturdevant (Jennifer), Sherry R. Sturdevant, and Michelle L. Entwistle, her three sisters, Judy VanLeeuwen, Mary Carpenter (Kent), Janette Rivers (Rick), and 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and lots of nieces and nephew. And we can't forget her cat, dog, and bird who were always by her side. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Mark Butler and both her mother and father. Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106 on Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Guests may arrive a half hour prior to services.
