DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR? — turkey — Ashton Kutcher, Seann William Scott, Jennifer Garner, Marla Sokoloff, Kristy Swanson, David Herman, Hal Sparks; rated PG-13 (vulgarity, profanity, slapstick violence, brief partial nudity); Carmike 12 and Ritz 15 Theaters; Century Theatres 16; Cinemark Jordan Landing Theaters; Gateway 8 Cinemas; Loews Cineplex Midvalley, South Towne Center and Trolley Square Mall Cinemas.
Having starred in "American Pie," "Road Trip" and "Dude, Where's My Car?" Seann William Scott can lay claim to being the king of bodily fluid comedies, the Stradivarius of Spew.
"Dude" features at least three urine jokes, as well as two genital-maiming bits, one old lady swearing a blue streak and at least 12 repetitions of the title question. Sort of a "Chester and Jesse's Excellent Adventure," the movie finds two stoner friends waking up after a binge, unable to find their wheels or remember what trouble they got into the previous night — trouble that will end up involving a transvestite, space aliens and lots of chocolate pudding.
It's a strenuously unfunny movie, weak even by the low standards of a genre that, one hopes, has finally emptied its stomach of all of its contents.
"Dude, Where's My Car?" is rated PG-13 for crude humor (sexual, scatological and drug-culture), scattered profanity (including the dreaded "elderly-cursing" gag), slapstick violence and brief partial female nudity (a stripclub scene). Running time: 83 minutes.
