Barbara Carr McClain Adams 1925 ~ 2007 Barbara Carr McClain Adams passed away at her home in Stockton, CA, April 24, 2007. She was born July 9, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert Daniel and Genevieve Carr McClain. Barbara married her high school sweet heart Frank E. Adams on May 13, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA. They were transferred to San Francisco, CA in 1954 and on to Salt Lake City, UT in 1955 where they raised their family. Frank and Barbara moved to Stockton CA after a 38 year career with U.S. Steel. The essence of Barbara's being was that of an artist. She was moved to dabble in a multitude of mediums. Creations she has left behind for her family's and friend's enjoyment include a wide variety of paintings, mosaics, decorative bottles, and wood carvings. Her wit and sense of humor shined through much of her art. She was most proud of her decorative sand dollars which she and Frank sold up and down the west coast at specialty shops for many years. Their passion for traveling took them many places around the world including Ireland, Europe, Caribbean and Panama Canal. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Frank, sister Patricia M. Burgess, and her daughter Barbara (Susie) Jones. She is survived by her son Daniel Adams (Judy) of Salt Lake City, UT, daughters Nancy Watters (Ira) of Arlington, TN, Mickey Adams, Stockton, CA and Virginia Echeverria (Leonardo), Libertyville, IL. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Thomas, Brenda, Patricia, Carolynn, Julliette, Carl, Joseph, Janet, Miguel, Robert, Christina and Gabriel, numerous step grandchildren, 18 great grand children and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass of Remembrance will be held at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Stockton, CA at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. Following the services a celebration of her life will continue with a gathering of her friends and family at the family home. Another celebration of her life with a Mass of Remembrance will be held in Salt Lake City, UT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Hospice of San Joaquin County, CA. or a charity of your choice.
