Richard "Gary" Cazier 1933 ~ 2007 Richard Gary Cazier, 73, died peacefully Tuesday, April 3, 2007 surrounded by his precious family. He was born April 12, 1933, the son of Richard George and Erma Kirsten Skiby Cazier. This wonderful man lived a life of joy. He brought light to darkness, he gave of himself to the benefit of many. His care and concern was focused around his family. Everyone he befriended became a member of his family. Never was there a man who demonstrated more love for his eternal companion than he. Mom was the center of his life, he didn't ever have to tell anyone how much he loved her, he just showed it. He served our country courageously with the United States Navy in the Korean War. His patriotism was reflected always in his attitude. He loved all beautiful things, nature, music and architecture. He loved water, in all forms, ocean, lake, and snow - especially a good water fight. His favorite moments were listening to his children and grandchildren sing around the piano, playing his harmonica and telling stories. The cabin he built has become a place of precious memories. Humor was a vital part of his existence. His laugh was infectious and he always taught us that laughter could help heal the heart and soul. He had a great knowledge of the building trades and loved to share that knowledge to advance the skill and craftsmanship of everyone he worked with. He knew how to get the job done right. His legacy is a family of love, a testimony of his Savior and an example of what a man ought to be. He is survived by his children Chris and Steve Pierce, Sherie and Scott Warner, Becky and Terrell Gillis, Robert Cazier, Julie and Detlev Klausmeier, Dan and Mindi Cazier, Mike and Jen Cazier, 31 grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren and brother Craig Cazier, and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his eternal companion, his father and mother, and his brother Fred Cazier. Funeral services will be held on Sat., April 7, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Oquirrh Stake Center, 5208 W. Cyclamen Way (5208 W.).
