Obituary: Teunis De Jong

Teunis De Jong 3/15/1931 ~ 5/4/2007 Teunis De Jong passed away May 4, 2007. He was born March 15, 1931 to Geertje De Jong and Gerrit De Jong in Dordrecht, Netherlands. He came to America in early 1950's with his parents, learned to read and write English with the help of his family even though he was deaf. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Worked for Zions Securities for over 45 years. Survived by his nieces, Nikki Anton, Jackie Hendrickson (Craig), Letha Carter (Dan); nephews, Rick De Zeeuw (Ellene), Michael De Zeeuw and friend, Bob Schimming (Shirliann). Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gerrie Hielkma and brother, Adrianus De Jong. Graveside services will be held May 11, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Mission Fund. We express our appreciation to the Heritage Care Center in American Fork for the wonderful care given to Teunis.
