Harry Edwin Mingo 1928 ~ 2007 Harry Edwin Mingo adored husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away May 5, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Harry was born Feb. 24, 1928 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Arthur and Bertha O'Halloran Mingo. He was a graduate of Twin Falls High School and later served a tour in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education in 1952 and earned a Masters Degree from the University of Utah in Educational Administration in 1967. Harry married Imogene Isabel Griffin, his loving wife of 53 years, on Nov. 28, 1953. They had six children that kept their dad very busy. Harry taught electronics and math at West High School for 30 years where he touched the lives of hundreds of students many of whom chose careers in electronics. He enjoyed 17 years of retirement with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad was always kind, gracious and a generous soul, especially with his time. He spent many hours helping others. We could count on Dad to fix anything. He always had a good joke to share and cherished playing with his grandchildren. He was an accomplished artisan and created many beautiful woodwork pieces in his workshop. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, boating, and hunting with his friends and family. He especially loved spending time on Lake Powell, spending time with his friends, bowling, working in his garden and traveling. He loved learning and was always interested in the medical field. Dad delighted in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His belly was the favorite place for grandbabies to sleep. Harry is survived by his wife Imogene; six children Mary Mingo, Harry R. (Marti) Mingo, Anne (Doug) Chesley, Richard (Karen) Mingo, Camille (Reyes) Aguilar, Anita (Scott) Lusty, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two brothers Robert (Irma Jean) Mingo and Don Mingo, one sister, Kathleen Kramer. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Chuck and Albert Mingo and grandson Matthew R. Mingo. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses, doctors, staff, and pastoral care of the Critical Care Unit at St. Mark's for their kind and compassionate care of our dad and family. We love you Dad more than you will ever know. You are the best dad in the world. You will forever be in our hearts. Watch over us! We love you!
