Gary S. Anderson 1935 ~ 2007 Gary S. Anderson was born Sept. 22, 1935 in Logan, Utah to Stewart Joseph Anderson and Lenora Virginia Pedersen. He passed away Tues. May 1, 2007 after a heroic, 42 year fight with Multiple Sclerosis. He moved to Salt Lake City at the age of six, living most of his life in the Holladay area. He married the love of his life, LaRae Dunston, on Nov. 16th, 1952 and was later sealed to her in the Salt Lake Temple. A dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gary served faithfully as an Elder's Quorum President, Ward Executive Secretary and a Bishop's counselor. He enjoyed the mornings spent serving as an Officiator in the Salt Lake Temple Baptistery. Those whom he served were touched by his testimony and his love of the Savior and the gospel. Gary was known for his personal and professional integrity. His meticulous nature and hard work ethic earned him the respect of his professional colleagues. Building upon a business started by their father, Gary and his brother, Bruce developed Real Estate and built homes throughout the Salt Lake Valley. They developed many subdivisions and pioneered the condominium concept in Utah. Equity Homes, Inc. received recognition and awards from both the Home Builders Association and the Utah Parade of Homes. They owned and operated numerous shopping centers and office buildings. Gary served on the Utah Home Builders Association Board and on the Cottonwood Community Council. Gary had a great passion for sport and luxury cars. Much to his wife's dismay, he had a need for speed. He mastered the art of fine driving and delighted in Sunday drives. Cars, home, and belongings were perfectly cared for. He will be missed every day by his loving wife, LaRae; his brother, Bruce (Dorothy); his children, Michael (Patti), Michele (Dana) Walton, Kevin (Anne), Kent (Jeanette), Christy (Jos?) Abad, 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews, and cherished friends. Preceded in death by his parents; and sisters (Helen Liljegren and Jeanne Carlisle). Gary's family would like to express appreciation to those who have lovingly helped care for him; Dr. Steven Heath, Lisa Jones, Lisa K. and the Hearts for Hospice staff, the Heritage Home Healthcare staff, and the Woodland Park Royal Grove staff. In lieu of flowers and to honor Gary's years of fighting MS, please make a pledge to support Team RealSource in this year's MS Bike Tour. Many of Gary's family will be riding with his team.
