Obituary: Gene Allen Fisher

Gene Allen Fisher 1917 ~ 2007 With family by her side, Gene Allen Fisher passed away Friday June 8, 2007 in her Salt Lake City home from age-related illness. Born in Provo, Utah on July 16, 1917 to Carl Preston and Mary Christian Allen. At 3 years old, her parents divorced and she moved in with her father and her stepmother, Hannah Beck Allen. Gene Allen married Milton Harrison Potter on June 12, 1937 and gave birth to three children before Milton died on August 30, 1948. Gene Allen Potter married Robert Dexter Fisher on December 29, 1953, gave birth to two more children and gained three step-children. Robert died September 1, 1992. Survived by children Robert Potter, Richard (Jolene) Potter, James (Kathleen) Potter, Laurel Fisher Astor, Bret (Carole) Fisher; step-daughters Valerie (Deloy) Porter and JoAnn (Leonard) Heyl; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grand children; siblings William (Evelyn) Allen, Ruth Norville Walker and Alwyn Norville. Preceded in death by husbands Milton and Robert, siblings Preston Allen, Gene Norville and Mary Norville, and grandsons Jonathan Potter and Joby Stevens. Graveside services will be held at the Provo City Cemetery on Wednesday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m.
