Obituary: Clyde Ray Witter

Clyde Ray Witter Layton, Utah Clyde Ray Witter, 77, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007 surrounded by his family at Davis Hospital. He was born July 27, 1929 in Nampa, Idaho to Clyde V. and Mable Harris Witter. He married Mildred Harvey on April 16, 1955 in Elko, Nevada; and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After World War II, Clyde served in Japan with the Army as part of General MacArthur's guard. He worked as a lineman for Utah Power and Light Co. for many years before advancing to other positions, retiring after 35 years. He was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed the time he spent serving in the Scouting program. He also loved being in the mountains; his favorite activities being traveling and camping with his family. Clyde is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, David (Crickett) Witter, Ogden; and Larry (Debbie) Witter, Layton; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren. Peceded in death by his parents and an infant son. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N.
