LAKESHORE — A brush fire broke out Tuesday afternoon near the south end of Utah Lake at an area known as Sandy beach.
The fire spread quickly, and occupants at several beaches were told to evacuate. No one was injured and no buildings were involved.
Approximately 40 acres were burned before the fire was put out, with several hotspots remaining in the evening hours.
