After an outstanding senior season, Greg Madsen was named Most Valuable Player of Region 1 by the league's coaches.

At the plate, Madsen batted .515 and knocked in 28 RBIs for the Vikings. He also excelled in the outfield and on the mound for the Region 1 champions.

Madsen was joined on the All-Region 1 first team by teammates Chris Larsen and Greg Whipple. They helped Viewmont win a first-round state baseball game and a couple more in the one-loss bracket before being eliminated by Timpanogos.
