Lebanese-born artist Marwan Nahle (1965-) will exhibit his work at Phillips Gallery through July 13.

Nahle, who comes from a family of prominent international artists, pulls graceful abstract figures from storms of color.

"His paintings," said Kim Riley of Phillips Gallery, "reflect an intensity where the forms are merely references in a luminous universe. His work is at once dramatic, carnal and mystical."

The artist's strength of form and color instills his paintings with a raw emotion that only intensifies the mystique of his favorite subject: woman.

Nahle's work should please anyone interested in the broad language of abstraction.
