OGDEN — Northbound I-15 traffic was shut down for about five hours on Sunday morning after a semitrailer truck crashed and burst into flames near 21st Street.
The Knight Trucking vehicle was hauling grocery items when it collided with a metal barrier about 7:40 a.m.
The traffic-directing barrier was placed in a construction zone and is designed to lessen the impact of crashes.
The truck's driver, Michael J. Edwards, escaped the burning truck uninjured. The North Carolina man had been wearing his seat belt, according to Utah Highway Patrol troopers.
