In reference to James Means' opinion (Readers' Forum, Aug. 8), why does Utah often seem to bear the brunt of misguided attacks by people with a narrow capacity for reason? What ticked off Means was the Murray Energy Corp. CEO's off-point rant. What Means didn't take the time to investigate is that the mine executive is from Ohio, not Utah.
Means chose the low road of lashing out without facts, making outlandish claims and asking sarcastically the typicality of the mind-set of the people of Utah. To answer, we generally treat people in a fair and unbiased manner.
Is James Means typical of the people of Louisiana? I think not.
