Wanda Bernice Tipton
1925 ~ 2007
Wanda Bernice Tipton, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday August 12 at her home from cancer. She was born on Feb. 19, 1925 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Perry O. Murphy and Essie B. Tackett.
On Oct. 10, 1947 Wanda married her childhood sweetheart, William Lee Tipton Jr. They raised three children together, Robert F. Tipton (Pat) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Cheryle L. Polte (Paul) of Newbury Park, CA. and Sandra K. Jenson (Jim) of Riverton, UT.
Wanda was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She was a homemaker while raising her children and later a successful retail manager. Though she had many interests and talents - people were her specialty. She loved and was loved by many.
She is survived by her three children, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren (with two more due shortly). She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and a grandson and a great grandson.
The family expresses their deepest appreciation to HC Hospice Specialists - particularly Paulette for the skill and compassion they gave in Wanda's behalf.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church at 12852 South 3200 West in Riverton, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
