Terry McCombs

1945 ~ 2007

Terrence Don McCombs, the son of the late Don J McCombs and Gwenivere Jenks McCombs, passed away on August 10, 2007 in Branson, Missouri of heart failure.

He was born on June 9, 1945, in Rupert, Idaho.

Terry was an accomplished musician and some of his performances included singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City, and as a soloist with the Utah Symphony. Over the years, he worked as a vocal coach in Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, California, New York and various cities in Idaho, including Rupert, Idaho. At the time of his death he was living in Branson, Missouri where he taught his vocal method to many families and singers who performed in the musical theaters there.

Terry was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a full-time missionary in Austria in 1964-1966. He recently served as a Teacher in his High Priests Quorum and was called to direct the Ward Choir.

He is survived by his son, Christopher McCombs, Ft. Collins, Colorado; two daughters, Mary Ann McCombs, Branson, Missouri, and Caroline McCombs, Salt Lake City, Utah; and a granddaughter, London Olivia McCombs, Branson, Missouri. He his also survived by his mother Gwenivere McCombs, Rupert, Idaho; two sisters, Lou Ann Moellmer, Salt Lake City, UT and Jeanne McCombs, Eagle, Idaho; three brothers, Daryl J McCombs, Aberdeen, Idaho, Ramon McCombs, Toquerville, Utah, Dee Brant McCombs, Rupert, Idaho.

His profound influence will be remembered always in the musical community. He was loved and admired, and will be missed deeply by many.

A memorial service was held in Branson, Missouri on Aug. 12, 2007. A viewing will be held at the Heyburn Second Ward Chapel at 530 Villa Drive, Heyburn, Idaho at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with interment to be at the Burley, Idaho Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.
