Carrie Brenna Rappleye Sims, born July 31, 1918, in Greybull, Wyoming, to William Edwin and Carrie Hulda Drew Rappleye, died January 8, 2008, in Bountiful Utah. She grew up in Wyoming and Idaho and graduated from Twin Falls High School. Married Mac W. Sims (died January 3, 1955) and had three sons and two daughters. Active member of the LDS Church. Foster grandmother at Primary Childrens Medical Center newborn ICU. Went on a mission to England. One of the first leaders in the Church Single Adult program.Survivors include: children: William R (Jetta), Donald M (Karen), Lynnette Shipp (Charles) and Rodney W (LaGene); 17 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren; brothers: William Rappleye (Maureen), John Rappleye (Marge); brother-in-law, Darrell Heider; sister-in-law, Avonell Rappleye and former daughter-in-law, Gaylene D'Asero. Preceded in death by husband; daughter,
Lorraine Ann; grandson, William R Sims II; siblings, Marcella Heider, Donna Graybill, Foster, Cedric and Kenneth Rappleye.
Funeral services will be held Sat. January 12, 1 p.m. at the Valley View 9th Ward, 1925 E. 4101 S. (Gunderson Lane). Friends may visit with the family on Fri. evening from 6-8 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., and at the church on Sat. morning from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. prior to services.
