Ronald H Rohner

Ronald H Rohner passed away at home on January 7, 2008. He was 68-years-old. Ron was born October 5, 1939 in Pocatello, Idaho the son of Herman Otto Rohner and Kathryn (Knutti) Rohner. The family moved to Salt Lake City where Ron graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. He married Judith Grokett, later divorced. Ron served in the Army National Guard. He was a very active member of IBEW Local 354 and as a master electrician he was very proud of his craft. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Flaming Gorge area, do-it-yourself construction projects and photography. He had a tender heart, booming voice and a great sense of humor. He loved his family and was especially supportive of his children's educational pursuits. He was often heard saying "Enjoy each day", "Give those you love a lasting hug" and "If all else fails - read the directions." Ron was a member of the LDS Church. Although we grieve the fact that your life here with us has ended, it gives us comfort to know that one glorious morning we will all be together again.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Kelly Duffey (Kathie) of Salt Lake City and daughter Veronica Linn Williams (Larry) of Hawaii; four grandchildren, William H. Williams and Amy Rose Williams of Hawaii, Camille McQuiston and Lucas Duffey of Salt Lake City; three great grandchildren Dominic Williams of Hawaii, Hope Woods and Braden Woods of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Larry Kent Rohner and Douglas John Rohner, one sister Conda Rae Rohner and one nephew Nathan Douglas Rohner, all of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City) Wednesday, January 16, 2008, between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. to share memories of Ron (Closed casket as Ron requested). Interment-Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers Ron requested that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital in his name. Online condolences at
