J. Michael Lunt
1939 ~ 2008
Jerry Michael (Mike) Lunt, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and other medical conditions on January 17, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. Our thanks go out to the many doctors, nurses and medical personnel for their care and service. Mike was born to Morgan and Martha (Fullmer) Lunt on May 20, 1939 in Nephi, Utah where he graduated from Juab High School in 1957. He married the love of his life, Lexie Estep, March 29, 1958 in Escondido California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple.
They raised five children: Donna (Max) Kunzler of Salt Lake City, Utah; Lauretta (Gerald) Hill of Ogden, Utah; Teresa (John) Diyaolu of Goodyear, Arizona; Michael (Cathrine) of Ogden, Utah; and Tim (Kimberly) of American Fork, Utah.
Mike worked as a general building contractor for the past 45 years designing and building custom homes both in San Diego, CA and Utah.
Mike is survived by his wife, Lexie, his sister, Karen McPherson, five children and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Lunt.
A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, at the LDS 13th Ward building, 4855 South 300 West in Washington Terrace. A viewing and memorial service will be held in Nephi, Utah on Tuesday, January 22, at the Nephi LDS Ward building; 351 North 100 West. The viewing will be held from 11:00-11:45 a.m. and the memorial service will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment is in the Vine Bluff Cemetery Nephi, Utah.
