Joseph Alma Goss
"Gramps"
Loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle, Joseph Alma Goss left us to be with his beloved wife on January 21, 2008. Born July 25, 1913 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Alma Goss Sr. and Laura Josephine Hansen. Married Eliza Jane Hoggan September 26, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on November 18, 1993. He was a devoted and kind husband to his sweetheart.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Young Men's president, stake missionary, genealogy missionary, ward clerk, and Primary teacher. He was an exemplary neighbor, always willing to help others. He truly loved and supported his children and grandchildren through the years in all that they did. Retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 25 years.
He is survived by his brother, Gardy (Elaine) Goss; daughters, Donna (Russ) Davey, and Kathy Goss; grandchildren, Nate (Lori) Davey, Cindy (Brett) McDonald, Mike (Kelli) Davey, Natalie (Jeff) Winder; and sixteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife; infant son, Phillip Alma; parents; and sister, Betsy Barber.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, January 24, 2008, in the Draper 6th Ward Chapel, 12870 South 1300 East. A viewing will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, on Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9:30 10:30 a.m. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
