• Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Inc., has joined the advisory board of Fusion-io. Wozniak will advise the company's chief executive officer, Don Basile, on future market trends; consult with senior management on company research and development efforts and product road-mapping; and introduce Fusion-io to alliances in the industry as well as sales opportunities.
• Jon Hawkins has joined The Summit Group Communications as a public-relations account manager. Hawkins has more than six years of agency experience. His education includes a degree from Brigham Young University.
• Jeff Pero has been promoted to business banking manager for Wells Fargo's Salt Lake south area. He has nearly eight years of financial services experience, joined Wells Fargo in 2005 and has served as a senior business-banking relationship manager. He also has worked as a division finance analyst at a tax-preparation company and an operations specialist, human-resource analyst and benefits administrator for a financial institution in Salt Lake City. His education includes degrees from the University of Phoenix and the University of Utah.
• Douglas Hansen, Kent Bowman, Marc Metcalf, Matt Huff and Scott Robinson have been promoted at Tanner LC. Hansen is audit-department head. Bowman is managing partner. Metcalf is tax senior manager. Huff is information technology director. Robinson is audit senior manager. Hansen has been with Tanner for nearly 20 years and has been an audit partner since 2000. His education includes a degree from Utah State University. Bowman joined Tanner in 2004, previously practicing at a pair of other firms. He has been the audit-division head since joining Tanner. Kent has 28 years of audit experience and experience in litigation services, revenue enhancement and cost-reduction consulting, and mergers and acquisitions. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah. Metcalf has been with Tanner since 2005. He has 10 years of tax and advisory-services experience. Prior to joining Tanner LC, he served as a tax manager at an international public accounting firm in Salt Lake City. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah. • Bill Davies, Reed Bromley, Mike Matheson and Charisse Anderson have joined NAI Utah Commercial Real Estate; Jeffrey A. Galyean has been named vice president of finance at the company; and Jack A. Woodward has been named player coach in the NAI Utah office in the South Valley area of Salt Lake County. Davies is the director of business development, working with the corporate-services team. He will specialize in providing real-estate services for corporate clients. Davies has spent most of his career in the real-estate-related fields of title, mortgage and development. Bromley is an executive real-estate agent specializing in office, industrial and land. His business is headquartered at NAI Utah's Utah County location at North Pointe Business Park. He began his career in real estate in 1998. Matheson is director of development, working with the property-management and brokerage parts of the company. Matheson brings 19 years of sales and marketing experience and has 10 years in the combined real-estate, banking and securities industries. His education includes a degree from Westminster College. Anderson is a senior property manager. She has more than 18 years of commercial property management and construction management experience. Galyean leads the company's finance, administrative, information technology and human-resources teams. He previously worked in the development industry. Woodward is a principal and executive real-estate agent at NAI Utah, specializing in the leasing and sales of office buildings. He has been involved in Salt Lake real estate for the last three decades, representing clients from Class A office space users to high-tech industrial users with a combination of office, research and development or warehouse requirements.
• Travis Parry has joined Commerce CRG at its St. George office. Parry has experience as a real-estate professional.
• Sheralyn Romrell has been named vice president of sales and marketing for Employer Solutions Group. Romrell will oversee all sales and marketing policies and parameters for ESG and will collaboratively direct the sales team in Utah and provide sales support to the teams in Arizona and Colorado. Her background at ESG includes work as a sales professional, human-resources consultant, workers' compensation specialist and accountant.
• Greg Butterfield, former president of Symantec's Altiris business unit, has joined the board of directors of Venafi. Butterfield has more than 22 years of executive experience in the software industry. Butterfield joined Symantec through the company's acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. Prior to the acquisition, he served as chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Altiris. He most recently founded SageCreek Partners.
• Jill Sigal has been named executive vice president of corporate communications and government relations at EnergySolutions Inc. Sigal will combine the responsibilities of federal and state government relations with those of community relations and internal and external corporate communications. She is a 25-year veteran of the energy and environmental clean-up industries. Her most recent position before joining EnergySolutions was as assistant secretary of energy for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs.
• Attorneys Steven C. Clark and Jessica P. Wilde; staff members Micquelle Corry and Kristal Dodge and law clerk Chayce David Clark have joined Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough PC. Steven Clark joins Jones Waldo's litigation team as a shareholder with expertise in commercial and corporate litigation, constitutional law, civil rights and family law. He has practiced law in New York City. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah. He is an adjunct law professor at the university, where he has taught courses on the First Amendment and judicial process. Wilde will join the firm's St. George office. Her education includes a degree from Brigham Young University. As marketing director for Jones Waldo, Corry is responsible for the firm's communication with clients, potential clients and the community. She has 20 years of advertising experience. Before joining Jones Waldo she was the owner of POW! creative services. Her education includes a degree from the University of Utah. Dodge has been added to the paralegal staff of the Jones Waldo real-estate department. For the past 12 years, she has worked as a closing specialist in the real-estate department at a life-insurance company. Chayce David Clark joins Jones Waldo's St. George staff as a law clerk. Clark has experience researching state code, assisting in the bill-drafting processes, and working with lobbying and advocacy groups to solicit support for legislative bills.
• Robert S. Conlee has been named chief executive officer and A. Craig Hale has been promoted to president of XanGo LLC. Conlee has nearly 18 years of executive and management experience in the direct-sales industry, primarily at a Provo-based company serving as senior vice president of sales and marketing and chief operating officer of one division and president of a regional division. His education includes degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Hale joined XanGo three years ago and has overseen all legal affairs in the domestic and international markets where XanGo operates. He has represented XanGo in those 23 countries and been involved in opening international markets. Hale has served as chairman of XanGo's senior executive team for the past 12 months. Former president Kent Wood will join other XanGo founders — Joe Morton, Gordon Morton and Bryan Davis — in assuming a full-time role on the board as founder/board member.
