WOMEN'S SOCCER: Senior midfielder Hayley McCoy and junior goalkeeper Rebecca Ritchie were each named as a Big Sky Conference Soccer MVP and the Wildcats had five players named to the All-Conference First Team on Tuesday as the league announced its 2008 all-conference teams and individual award winners. The selections were made in a vote by the league's eight head coaches. The coaches could not vote for their own players.

McCoy was named the Co-Offensive MVP along with Northern Arizona forward CeeCee Ordorfer, while Ritchie was named the league's Defensive MVP. NAU's Jenna Samora was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Weber State placed five players on the All-Conference First Team, leading all teams. Ritchie and McCoy were joined by defenders Ashtyn Webster and Lindsay Ellis and forward Whitney Smith. The Wildcats did not place any players on the second team, but had four players receive honorable mentions in Shannon Thompson, Shaylee Hyde, Collette Simmons and Ari Wood.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: The Wildcats won their final non-conference match of the season Tuesday night, sweeping Utah Valley at the Swenson Gym to improve to 16-11 overall.

Junior Chelsea Bair led the 'Cats with her Big Sky-best 16th double-double of the season, finishing with 17 kills and 13 digs. Leah Burmeister had her sixth double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs, to go along with four blocks. Caitlyn Anderson added 13 digs for Weber State and Brittney Bisaillon added seven kills and seven blocks.

WSU returns to Big Sky Conference action when it hosts Sacramento State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Swenson Gym.

For Utah Valley, junior Kristin Anderson had a team-leading nine kills and eight total blocks. Freshman Sarah Clement added seven kills and six total blocks, and sophomore Kayli Broadbent chipped in eight kills and six digs.
