OGDEN (AP) — Two new tunnels are connecting pedestrians in Ogden with trails in the area.
One is at the mouth of Ogden Canyon, next to Rainbow Gardens. The other is near the Ogden Kayak Park on the Weber River. The tunnels, which officially opened Friday, are intended to give pedestrians a safer way to connect with surrounding trail systems.
Mayor Matthew Godfrey says he hopes the additions will help grow Ogden's reputation as a hub for outdoor recreation.

A 90-foot-long pedestrian bridge across the Ogden River was also built as part of the effort.
