Hugh Allen Folsom

1926 ~ 2008

Hugh Allen Folsom, 81 beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully February 25, 2008 in Bountiful, UT.

He was born May 25, 1926 in Salt Lake City, UT to Paul W. and Lily A. Folsom. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married Helen Soderberg on August 18, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served in the Navy from 1943 1947 and graduated from University of Colorado with a degree in electrical engineering. Following graduation he began his professional career with General Electric in Fort Wayne, IN and Detroit, MI. In 1957 he moved his family back home to Salt Lake City, UT and founded H.A. Folsom & Associates where he was a successful business man and operated his company until his retirement in 1988.

Dad had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed fly fishing on the Snake River with his family and an occasional pheasant hunting trip but he was most happy when he was on the golf course. He and his sweetheart were life-long members of Oakridge Country Club where they established many dear friendships that they enjoyed throughout their life. During his retirement years they spent many winters in Rio Verde, AZ enjoying more golf, sunshine and dear friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen and children Mark (Jacque), Janet Thomas (Clay), Paul (Janice), and Doug (Teresa), 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brother Theron Folsom and sister Vivian Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Lakeview Ward located at 455 South 1200 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Wednesday, February 27th located at 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, UT from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Interment: Bountiful Memorial Park.

The family expresses their gratitude and appreciation to Welcome Home Assisted Living and Summit Home Health and Hospice who gave such kind and loving care.

Dad we love you and will miss your quick wit and sense of humor.
