The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a civil suit against a Layton discount store, charging it with sexual harassment and retaliation.

According to the suit filed in U.S. District Court on Thursday, the EEOC claims managers of Honks $1 store refused to hire a female applicant after she reported a sexual assault at the business to the Layton Police Department.

The suit states that Honks is an Idaho corporation doing business in Utah and has continuously had at least 15 employees. The EEOC claims the business had created an environment of sexual harassment and is seeking back pay and compensation for future and past financial losses for the woman and a class of other female employees.
