Lester O. Moore

1920 ~ 2008

Lester O. Moore, 87, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Savior, March 17, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family.He was born Sept. 3, 1920 in Salt Lake City to William Christopher Moore and Ellen Alice Castle Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and his beloved "Granny".

He was married July 18, 1942 for 65 years to his one and only true love Cleone Johnson Moore in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.

He is survived by his wife Cleone, sons L. Gary Moore (Yvonne), Brent L. Moore (Diane), Marlon B. Moore, daughter Colette Hyatt, 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grand-children. He was a programs engineer at the Bureau of Reclamation, a faithful member of the LDS Church, an avid athlete in his youth and an accomplished piano player. He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. He was never happier than when surrounded by his family who adored him.

His viewing will be held Thurs., March 20, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Bunker's University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be held Fri., March 21, 2008 at 11 a.m., at the Mesa 12th Ward, 2152 E. Adobe Street, Mesa, AZ with a viewing from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment will be at the Larkin Memorial Cemetery, Mon., March 24, 2008 at 11 a.m., 106th S. 17th E., Sandy Utah.
