Dee Holder

Dee LaMar Holder passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008. Born July 4, 1920, in Myton, Utah to James Edgar Holder and Vera LaPreal Gardner.After graduating from Altamont High School he joined the Army Air Corps. While stationed in Ajo, Arizona, he met and married his wife of 56 years, Barbara Gaston. At the end of his military service in October, 1945, they moved to Salt Lake City where he served with the Salt Lake City Police Department until his retirement in 1960. He loved basketball and was a devoted fan of the Utah Jazz. He was a committed husband and father and worked hard to provide for his family. He was very much loved and will be truly missed.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister, Jean Sargent. Survived by his children, Craig (Chris), Denny (Nancy), Dale (Laura), Toni (John); nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Beverly (Harry) Fieldsted and Betty (Varney) McClea.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 28, 2008, at Holladay Memorial Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street.
