Lon W. Corbridge

1926 ~2008

Lon W. Corbridge, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Malad, Idaho, Friday, March 28, 2008.

He was born December 6, 1926 in Bountiful, Utah to Lawrence George and Mary Emily Tuttle Corbridge. He married Ilean Griffiths June 5, 1947 in the Logan Temple. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.

After graduating from Malad High school in 1945, he entered the U.S. army as World War II was ending. He and his wife served in the Western Canadian Mission. Upon returning home, he became a partner in the ranching business with Corbridge Brothers. He loved his work, his family, and serving in the LDS Church. He was the Malad Stake Patriarch for the past 25 years. He influenced many people in several callings, including bishop of the Malad 3rd Ward for 10 years and as a High Councilor.

He is survived by his wife, Ilean Corbridge; seven daughters, Janet (Andrew) Skinner, Lindon; Karen (Martin) Hinckley, Perry; Debbie Corbridge, Salt Lake City; Cherie (Phillip) Lee, Garland; Annette (Tad) Morley, Draper; Kathy (David)

Walton, Vernal; Mary (Mitch) Simkins, Draper, Utah; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon Corbridge, Malad, Idaho; and sisters, Mollie Hyer, Las Vegas, Nevada; Lauraine Allen, Centerville; and Lucille Skanchy, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at the Malad 3rd Ward, 400 North 200 West, Malad, Idaho. A viewing will be held Monday night, 6 to 8 p.m. at Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West 300 North.
