Sandra Chapman Darling

1935 ~ 2008

Sandra Chapman Darling passed away at her home Saturday, June 28, 2008, from a rare disease.She was born in Manti, Utah, Nov. 10, 1935, to Perry and Pauline DeWitt Chapman.

She spent her early years in Provo and Marysvale, Utah, and later moved to California where she met and married her first husband,

Thomas Kaumans. They had four children, one dying at childbirth. They moved to Sandy, Utah, and were divorced in 1966. Sandy supported herself and her children by working a number of odd jobs. She attended college and earned her associate degree. She held management positions for Thrift City and Kmart and was bookkeeper for Harold Bowman and Sons.

She then married Fred Darling Nov. 23, 1969. They spent their lives together living in Sandy, Sacramento, San Jose, and Draper. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple March 23, 1994. The two had a wonderful life and she is Fred's pride and greatest joy. Sandy's a beautiful, wonderful, loving person who takes great pride in her family. A meticulous dresser, she is truly the belle of the ball. She loves painting and shopping. Loved dearly by everyone, she will be greatly missed.

Herbert, and grandson Adam Newby. She is survived by her husband Fred, son Thomas (Mary)

Darling, daughters, Debbie (Mark) Campbell, Cathy Hostetter, and

Penny Thornton, Vicky (Al) Mangel, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be Wednesday, July 2nd, 7-9 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 3rd at the Draper 6th Ward Chapel, 1272 E. 12870 S. with viewing 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
